I See You

I see you is a tower defense strategy game set in a dark fantasy world ravaged by an arcane disease known as the Shadow Plague. The game's narrative is told from the perspective of the antagonist, a dark wizard responsible for unleashing the Shadow Plague, while the gameplay is follows the protagonist, an Alchemist of Light. 

The Shadow Plague has caused the shadows of objects, animals and people go gain a physical form and murderous intent, pulling themselves free from their hosts, often killing the host in the process. 

The Alchemist of light must fuse various reagents in their alchemical crystal to create defensive towers to hold off the hoard of shadows while slowly making their way to the dark wizard to defeat them and use their work to create a cure to the Shadow Plague.

Controls:

  1. Point & Click - Menu Interaction
  2. Spacebar - Confirm Tower Placement

Known Bugs / Please Avoid - Please note there are 4 known bugs in this release:

  1. Please avoid pressing the escape button during tower placement as you will lose the resource cost of the tower. 
  2. Please also avoid selecting an additional tower prior to pressing space while placing towers. 
  3. Ice Towers may permanently freeze one enemy indefinitely.
  4. Some elements may be improperly sorted on the visual grid
  5. Level 2 craft fail doesn't trigger at all.
  6.  Level 2 you can infinitely craft a tower over and over with the same reagents.
  7. Level 2 you can go into negative health
    1. if you want to test our level fail page, just get game over on level 1. :)
  8. On a game over, your score and health do not reset... I didn't get time to code this fix in. But please just refresh the page to fix it for now.

Found another bug, don't think that you get a level complete screen on Level 2. Very unfortunate, you cannot see our level complete screen. It was a message thanking you for playing. :)

Also... for those confused as to how to play the game - select a reagent from the 4 in the bottom left, then select a secondary reagent (can be the same as the first). Then click the craft button.

The crafting will either tell you that the recipe was successful and you've created a tower, or it will tell you that there's no recipe (possibly to console) - so if you don't seem to get a result, try another reagent combination.

There's 5 towers in total that can be created.

Unfortunately, time constraints got the best of our QA. Level 1 seems to work very well within reason - sans the bugs listed above - but level 2 looks to be missing some functions.

I would edit the page with this info - but I'm avoiding editing this page until the judging.

Thank you so much for checking out this game from each of us that made it at Studio BDB. An elite squad of 4 individuals with 2 weeks of experience that resulted in this game. Btw, C# is difficult. Unity is hard. AseSprite is surprisingly intuitive, but pixel art is hard.
